Hi I’m Renee…

Early on, I worked with a lot of adults in their 20's and 30's, and I noticed that many experienced similar struggles and goals for therapy. They were looking for meaningful connections, a sense of purpose in their jobs, and help with overwhelming anxiety about the future. Some were dealing with difficult family situations and past trauma that were having negative effects on their self-esteem and ability to communicate effective boundaries.

My purpose in counseling is to help you let go of what is holding you back and start moving forward. In therapy, we work collaboratively to set goals, explore limiting beliefs, explore any past trauma and its effect on the present, and learn better ways of communicating needs and boundaries to others. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients who may feel triggered by or stuck in past trauma and adverse experiences. I also use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which is rooted in the science of emotions and attachment, in order to help people create secure connection with themselves and others.

I am a native Dallasite, a graduate of Baylor (BA) and Amberton (MA), a wife to my fun husband of 31 years, and a mom of two amazing grown daughters who inspire me. Some of my favorite things are my book club, my dance classes, the Dallas Stars, and South Padre Island. I volunteer weekly with the Crisis Text Line, and I have the absolute cutest rescue cat named Coco.

Meeting with a therapist may be new for you, and it might even seem a little scary, but my clients often say that taking that first step in a new direction gives them a sense of relief and a feeling of empowerment.
